Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp

It's finally fall, and as every New Englander knows that means one thing: apple picking!  We're excited to try out new apple-inspired recipes!  This apple crisp is delicious and wicked easy to make. You probably have the ingredients in your pantry!

Ingredients
1 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
6 sliced apples
3/4 cup of flour
1/4 teaspoon of salt
half a stick of butter

1. Combine 1/2 cup of sugar, water, and cinnamon in the bottom of a small baking pan.
2. Slice apples.  We used one of those awesome apple slicers.  We also kept the skins on the apples for extra flavor and texture, but you can peel them, too.  Layer sliced apples on top of the mixture in the baking pan.

3. Blend remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, flour, salt, and butter until the mixture is crumbly.  Spread over the apples in the pan.
4. Bake at 400 degrees for 40-50 minutes, or until the crust on top is browned and awesome smelling.

This is a delicious recipe-add some vanilla ice cream on top for extra flavor and coolness.  It's also awesome sans ice cream!  And the best part is that it's super easy and you have all of the ingredients already.  Get off your butt and go apple picking!
