Candy Crack

Candy Crack
This delightful treat was first shown to us by our mother's friend.  Since then we have made it often and are obsessed with it!

Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
2 sticks of butter
Saltines
2 cups chocolate chips

1. Line a baking sheet with saltines.  Saltines should be touching with no space in between crackers (if you run out of saltines before the sheet is full it's ok!)
2. Combine butter and brown sugar in a pot over the stove and bring mixture to a boil.  Let mixture boil for 3 minutes (the time is super important, otherwise it'll burn!)
3. Immediately pour brown sugar mixture over saltines.  Spread the mixture over saltines evenly with a spoon.
4. Place baking sheet with saltines in oven at 400 degrees and bake for 5 minutes (again, the time is super important!)
5. Remove baking sheet from oven and immediately pour the chocolate chips on top of the saltines.  Let chocolate chips sit for a little and melt, and then spread the chocolate evenly over the saltines.
6. Let the saltines cool completely (chocolate should be hard before you do anything else!)
7. Remove the saltines from the baking sheet (it'll come up in one big sheet) and break it apart with your hands into bite-sized pieces.
8. Store in a container, or serve on a plate immediately!

This is a super easy to make treat.  We call it crack because it's addictive and because you get to crack it apart!  This is a great side dish at a party or get-together, or a perfect midnight snack if you need something sweet!
